Winsor and Newton’s Refined Linseed Oil is a low-viscosity alkali refined oil which can be mixed with oil paint to slow the drying time, improve the flow of pigment and increase the transparency. When dry, oil paint that has been mixed with linseed oil will have a more glossy finish, and the pale colour of this medium causes minimal discolouration to finished work.
This oil medium can be mixed into oil paints on a palette to change the consistency, or alternatively try dipping your brush into the medium and then into your paint, working directly onto the canvas.
